Mike & Pat Ferrari Memorial Scholarship

In the 1990s, a Michael Jordan commercial had kids of all ages singing, "I wanna be like Mike." At the Printscape PONY League World Series, we also "wanna be like Mike." Mike Ferrari that is.

Mike Ferrari was the longtime groundskeeper at Lew Hays PONY Field, spending many summer evenings at the ballpark preparing it for the annual August classic. Shortly after the 2016 World Series, Mike passed away following a 15-month battle with cancer. In 2017, World Series Tournaments, Inc. established the Mike & Pat Ferrari Memorial Scholarship, which is to be given annually to a recently graduated Washington County high school student who has given of themselves to support and promote the Printscape PONY League World Series. Local high school students interested in volunteering are encouraged to participate in our volunteer program. The scholarship was rebranded in 2025 to include Mike's wife, Pat, who was a long-time volunteer in the World Series concession stand. Pat passed away shortly after the 2024 tournament.

The Mike & Pat Ferrari Memorial Scholarship is proudly supported by Community Bank.
