Hagerstown, MD 12 Defeats West Covina, CA 2 in Game 3 of the PONY League World Series
WASHINGTON, PA (August 8, 2026) - Ending game 3 of the 2026 Printscape PONY League World Series, East Zone champion Hagerstown, MD overcame West Zone champion West Covina, CA, 12-2.
Kason Mann had a strong day at the plate, picking up three hits and driving in four runs to help Hagerstown come away with the win. Mann hit a three-run home run to right field in the fourth inning and doubled in the third to bring home another run.
Hagerstown grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third, putting four runs on the board. Mann started the scoring with an RBI double, followed by a run scored on an error. Blake Truett then came through with a two-run single to give Hagerstown a 4-0 advantage.
The offense continued in the fourth inning as Hagerstown scored seven more runs. Mann's three-run homer added to the lead, while Camdyn Sibole doubled to bring in two runs. Ryan Emlet followed with a two-run single, pushing Hagerstown's lead to 11-0.
Mann was also effective on the mound, earning the win after allowing two hits and two runs over four innings. He struck out seven batters and did not allow a walk. Ayden Sanchez was charged with the loss for West Covina after pitching 2⅓ innings and giving up three runs on two hits with one walk.
Chase Goshorn finished off the game with a scoreless inning in relief for Hagerstown. He allowed one hit and struck out three without issuing a walk.
Hagerstown totaled 10 hits in the game. Truett finished 2-for-3, while Mann's three-hit performance led the team and included four RBIs.
Sanchez recorded both of West Covina's RBIs while going 1-for-2 at the plate. Sanchez, Jayden Corzantes, and Javier Verduzco each finished with one hit. West Covina also turned a double play during the game.
After the win today, Hagerstown, MD heads into the winner’s bracket to play in Game 12 on Monday, Aug. 10, at 7:00 PM/ET. They face the winner of Game 6. This loss enters West Covina, CA into the losers bracket where they will face the loser of Game 4 on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 6:00 PM/ET in Game 8 of the Printscape PONY League World Series.
