Navojoa, Mexico 4 Walks It Off Against South Hills, PA 3

WASHINGTON, PA (August 8, 2026) - In dramatic fashion, game 4 of the 2026 Printscape PONY League World Series ended with a walk off single. Mexico Zone champion Navojoa, Mexico defeated East Zone champion South Hills, PA, 4-3.


South Hills got on the board first in the top of the first inning when Garrett Snyder singled to bring in a run. Navojoa answered in the fourth inning, taking the lead after a South Hills error and an RBI single from Mauricio Araiza made it 2-1.

Mexico added another run in the fifth inning when Jazael Figueroa hit a solo home run to right field, extending their lead to 3-1.


South Hills battled back in the sixth inning to tie the game at 3-3. James Snyder brought in a run on a fielder's choice before Mason Scheiring followed with a single to score another.


The game stayed tied until the bottom of the eighth inning. With the winning run on base, Jesus Valenzuela came through with a single to score the go-ahead run and give Mexico the 4-3 walk-off victory.


Diego Ruiz got the start on the mound for Navojoa and had a strong outing, pitching five innings while allowing three hits and one run. He struck out nine and walked just one batter. Axel Mendivil finished the game in relief, throwing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts.


For South Hills, Connor Cizauskas started and pitched 3⅓ innings, giving up three hits and two runs, with one earned. He also recorded six strikeouts.


Iker Leyva led Mexico at the plate, going 3-for-4. Valenzuela, Araiza, and Figueroa each drove in one run. Navojoa also played a clean game defensively without committing an error.


South Hills had five players record a hit, including Garrett Snyder, James Snyder, Cameron Lavery, Mason Scheiring, and Declan Wicker. Garrett Snyder, James Snyder, and Scheiring each drove in a run, while Garrett Snyder also stole two bases.

Clenching the victory today, Navojoa, Mexico enters into the winner’s bracket to play in Game 6 on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 12:00 PM/ET where they will take on Taichung City, Chinese Taipei. This defeat forces South Hills, PA into the losers bracket where they will face West Covina, CA on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 6:00 PM/ET in Game 8 of the Printscape PONY League World Series.
