WASHINGTON, PA (July 21, 2026) — Washington County, PA, will serve as the host team for the 2026 Printscape PONY League World Series. After two runner-up finishes in the past three years, the team enters the tournament with high expectations. 

“The expectation every year since I have been here is to win the championship,” said Washington County head coach, JP Przybylinski. ”Washington County hasn’t won it in quite some time and these kids are hungry to change that.” 

Following an exciting run in last year’s tournament where they finished runner-up to Taichung, Chinese Taipei, this year’s team is hoping to use that momentum to catapult them over the championship hump that has haunted them since 1955. “The team last year was super special, and the team this year looks up to those guys,” Przybylinski said. “We have players from years past share their experience with the current team every year. The message is the same, the goal is the same, the players who are ready to get it done are the only thing that changes. We will learn from every experience past teams can offer, both as players and as coaches.”

With a roster full of talent from the region, Washington County is eager to represent its community on the international stage. “All of the players on this year’s team are extremely talented athletes and phenomenal baseball players,” Przybylinski stated.  The talent level in Southwestern Pennsylvania and Washington County is well represented, and I look forward to taking each and every one of them into battle. Every player on this team has earned and deserves to represent this county proudly.”

Washington County’s roster consists of three players from Trinity, one from McGuffey, two from Charleroi, one from Burgettstown, one from Chartiers-Houston, six from Canon-Mac, and one from Seton LaSalle. The team is comprised of players from the Founder’s League, a 20-team recreational baseball league that includes every school district in Washington County with the exception of Peter’s Township. 

Two teams from Washington County have won a World Series title, including Monongahela in 1954 and Washington in 1955. 

Washington County will open play in the 2026 Printscape PONY League World Series against the winner of Paderborn, Germany, and the to be determined South Zone Champion at 5:00 PM/ET on Saturday, August 8, at Historic Lew Hays PONY Field in Washington, PA.
