Printscape PONY League World Series Announces Sponsorship Renewals and Key Additions for 2024

WASHINGTON, PA (June 20, 2024) – The world comes to Washington, Pennsylvania, Aug. 9-14 for the 2024 Printscape PONY League World Series. World Series Tournaments, Inc. today announced Printscape as the event’s new title sponsor and continued partnerships with CNX, Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency, and the Observer-Reporter.

Printscape, a Southpointe-based printing and graphics company with a second location in Robinson Township, specializes in signage installation, graphics, and amplifying brands not only in the Pittsburgh region, but all throughout North America. Printscape has been a long-time supporter of the World Series, annually printing signage for the event and previously participating as a sponsor.

“We are super excited to be part of such a long-standing tradition. We believe in community and fostering opportunity for young people,” said Printscape owner, John Dziak.

In addition to Printscape’s title sponsor, the World Series is also proud to announce the expansion of its partnership with CNX, Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency, Observer-Reporter.

After last year announcing its $150,000 commitment to the World Series, CNX plans to increase its involvement this year as the event’s official volunteer sponsor, reinforcing its support of our local communities.

“Our volunteer program relies on over 500 local volunteers to host this event in Washington,” said Nathan Voytek, president and chairman of World Series Tournaments, Inc. “CNX continues to support local efforts, and our volunteer program is no exception, with CNX helping to provide volunteer shirts, rewards, and other program materials.”

In addition to the volunteer program sponsorship, CNX will also be hosting a youth baseball clinic for area kids on the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 14.

“CNX recognizes that youth sports and athletic programs are a core pillar to health and wellness of children in our local communities,” said Cody Craker, vice president of operations and construction at CNX Resources. “We are fostering this through our Dream Fields Program here in the Appalachian region and our wonderful partnership with a long-standing, local partner in the PONY League World series.”

The World Series is also proud to continue its partnership with Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency to market Washington County to the world.

“The PONY League World Series is one of the county’s unique gems, a diamond if you will, that continues to present a significant opportunity to showcase our many historical, entertainment, and cultural attractions,” said Jeff Kotula, president of the Washington
County Tourism Promotion Agency. “We are proud to continue our longstanding support of the event and honored to welcome Printscape as the event’s new title sponsor, exemplifying their commitment as an upstanding community partner."

The World Series is also proud to continue its presenting sponsor partnership with the Observer-Reporter, the literal home of PONY Baseball. PONY Baseball was founded in 1951 in Washington, Pa., by Lew Hays, who at that time was the sports editor for the
Washington Reporter. The organization’s founding meetings took place in the O-R’s offices, and the O-R continues to be a partner to the event.

“When we found out we were losing DICK’S Sporting Goods as our title sponsor, we knew we needed a way to subtly promote that we were in the market for a new title sponsor,” Voytek said. “We approached the O-R, who has always been such a great partner to us, and they agreed to write a feature on it. Their article resulted in us receiving multiple inquiries about the title sponsorship, and without the O-R’s help, I honestly don’t think we are naming a new title sponsor for 2024.”

As the excitement for 2024 builds with Printscape as the new title sponsor, fans of the Washington County team also have a reason to be excited with the continued expansion of the Founder’s League, which now includes every youth baseball league in Washington County with the exception of Peter’s Township. The continued growth of the Founder’s League resulted in Washington County’s 2023 runner-up finish, which brought 30,000 fans to Lew Hays PONY Field and injected over $5.8 million into Washington County’s economy.

The 2024 Printscape PONY League World Series will be played at Lew Hays PONY Field in Washington Park from Aug. 9-14. More information and updates will be available on plws.org, as well as World Series social media accounts.
