It’s GAME ON at the 2024 Printscape PONY League World Series!

WASHINGTON, PA – World Series Tournaments, Inc. and PONY Baseball and Softball today announced three of the 10 berths in the 2024 Printscape PONY League World Series and previewed the remaining zone qualifying tournaments. PONY’s 72nd World Championship is set for August 9-14 at Lew Hays PONY Field in Washington Park.

The field will be comprised of the Caribbean, European, Mexico and Asia-Pacific champions, four US Zone winners, the Host-Area champion and the host team.

Caribbean Zone: Guaynabo, Puerto Rico
Guaynabo won the Caribbean Zone tournament in fall of 2023, claiming the city’s second berth in the World Series. Guaynabo last qualified for the World Series in 2022, posting an 0-2 record.

European Zone: TBD
Italy won PONY Europe’s 2024 Zone championship played in April in Prague, Czech Republic. Due to Italy’s overlap with the 15U National Championship and runner-up Germany also losing most of its roster to the 15U national team, PONY Europe officials are working on securing third-place finisher Spain as the European Zone representative.

Mexico Zone: Tijuana, Mexico
Tijuana won Mexico’s Zone tournament in late May, qualifying for the second time ever for the World Series. Tijuana’s only previous appearance was in 2018, posting a 1-2 record.

Asia-Pacific Zone: TBD
The Asia-Pacific Zone championship is being played June 17-21 in Angeles City, Philippines. The winner of the Asia-Pacific Zone will look to win a back-to-back championship for the zone after Edogawa Japan’s 2023 title.

US Zone Qualifying Process
The four United States Zone brackets - North, South, East and West – will work their way through regional qualifying tournaments concluding with Zone championships.
North Zone: July 25-28, 2024, Bay County, MI
South Zone: July 24-29, 2024, Youngsville, LA
East Zone: Just 30-Aug. 3, High Point, NC
West Zone: Aug. 1-4, West Covina, CA

The two additional U.S. teams are the Host-Area champion and the host team, Washington County, PA. The Host Area tournament is open to all PONY-registered programs within approximately 75 miles of Washington, exclusive of programs in the Founders League (Washington County).

Host-Area: July 25-28, Mt. Lebanon, PA

Host: Washington County, PA The Host team includes players from the Founders League, formed following the 2015 World Series as an effort to rekindle youth baseball throughout Washington County. The league started with Washington Youth Baseball and Canon-Mac Youth Baseball, two of the original PONY programs. For 2024, the Founder’s League includes every school district within Washington County with the exception of Peters Township. Efforts continue to include all PONY-registered programs in Washington County.

Monongahela (1954) and Washington (1955) own Pennsylvania’s two PONY titles.
